HIS Love

I've already admitted I'm not a faithful blogger.... its just a time thing!

A song has been in my head all week.... the chorus:

"Your love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me!"

Is that not Awesome?  I think about the love I have had for others, and others have shown to me.... of course, love is what makes my world a better place... I Love to Love, and I Love being Loved!

But I am certain, I've failed in loving others, I've likely given up in loving others, and I'm certain I've run out of love for particular people a time or two.  However, GOD's Love...... has NEVER failed, NEVER gave up and NEVER run out on me!  And it will never run out on you either!

John 3:16 says it simply.... and for that, there is no greater love than God's!

Flip Flop fetish

I looked up FETISH on Dictionary.com and........... WOW!  Won't be listing some of those definitions on today's update.... however, my interpretation of FETISH is "a love for", so lets go with that!

I LOVE FLIP FLOPS...  I love the simplicity of the on/off routine, I love the colors/patterns, I love that I just HAVE to get pedicures when I wear them, and I love the reminder of the beach everytime I wear them... pure happiness!

Jim tells me I am a loud walker (and he puts Tyler into the same category).  However, when I walk... I make the flip, flop sound perfectly!

Its the little things in life.... here's my  newest pair, adding to the 20-ish pairs I already have (seriously).  Pretty cute, huh?

Hibi Girl

There's a VERY sweet story why these are my absolute favorite flower........... (cliffhanger)............ but its a personal story, for a different day!

HIBISCUS means "feminine, delicate flower" ...

These were taken in Indian Rock Beach, one of my most favorite places to go.  Its "our" place (me/Jim).  The countdown is on until we're back there on July 5th.

Some days, I just forget.....

Some days, I just forget to write on this blog and then I realize, its been quite a few days.  Sorry, to my "faithful" followers.... :)

Nothing particular to write about today... for a "short" week, its sure been hectic.  One of those "dryer is not drying, check engine light is on and icemaker is on the fritz" weeks.  Not to mention, I took a weight lifting class on Tuesday, and its Thursday and I cannot move...... a body knows!

So, while there's been much to swallow my happiness, I'm trying to round out the week on a positive note.  Here are the things that make me happy today:

  • I have a sweet friend who recently got engaged.  I saw her last night and she honestly radiates with Happiness.  THIS MAKES ME HAPPY!
  • Dillon tried out for the 9th grade summer baseball team, and after a long night of waiting until the results were posted on the website, he made it.  His excitement was priceless.  THIS MAKES ME HAPPY!
  • Tyler is home for the summer.  THIS MAKES ME HAPPY!
  • Vacation is on the horizon, about 1 month away.  THIS MAKES ME DOUBLY HAPPY!
  • Its a 4 day work week.  THIS ALWAYS MAKES ME HAPPY!
  • Jim is coming home, and is not traveling next week.  THAT, TOO, ALWAYS MAKES  ME HAPPY!

What are you happy about today?

A perfect Friday night...

Jim and I dont always find ourselves with a night alone, but last night happened to be one of those nights.  Both boys were off doing their own things.  I had recently bought a picnic basket that I was itching to use (beats the old red cooler).  Little did I know, Jim had already planned a night out in Lawenceville, on the historic courthouse grounds, with a free concert.  A quick trip to Publix to stock the basket with fried chicken, pasta salad and a little banana pudding to share, and we were set.

The weather was perfect, the picnic was delicious and the band ("Rack of Spam") was actually pretty good.  The best part of the evening was, of course, the company.  You see, after 20-ish years of marriage.... we still like to spend time together.  We talk and laugh and geniuinely have a good time with each other.  Its easy to do when you're married to your best friend!

A MUST read.....

Have thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend.  Whether you "crave" food, material items, social status, etc., it's a great book that brings God's plan for these desires back into refocus.  Read it and tell me what you think!

In God's time... and no one elses!

The media buzz this week has been about the radio preacher who has predicted the rapture at 6:00 pm tonight.  I have been saddened by the media coverage... simply because the media tends to lean towards agnostic journalism, sometimes even "mocking" the thought that the rapture will be a real event.  Secondly, due to this man's "prediction", there may be alot of people who have made irrational decisions, or currently  live in "fear" of the prediction... thus, drinking the kool-aid.

The Bible is clear:

Matthew 24: 34-37

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

So if God decides the day and hour is today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year... the main question is ARE YOU READY?  I am ready, having made preparations many years ago... accepting Jesus Christ as my Saviour.  For that, I am thankful and can have immense peace.

So today, I'm cleaning house, entertaining dogs, catching up on some reading and then heading to dinner and movie with a friend tonight.... all with Peace in my heart.  If God's timing does happen to be tonight, I'll see you in Heaven.
